It was absolutely beautiful!!! We had so much fun. Everything went really well with no problems what so ever!!! I would recommend it to anyone who needs to relax and enjoy themselves. The food and dining was wonderful. There were very few Americans largest % of people were foreigners. A little difficult communicating but we managed. My husband said I got some strange looks playing sherades (sp) with the staff. Thank you so much again. If I had not gotten in touch with you I would still be trying to find time to plan our vacation. I will give you a call when we are ready to travel again.
Everything was wonderful - we had a fabulous time. The suites are great and the beach is beautiful.
Club Med in Punta Cana had a lot to offer. Once the plane landed we had no problem finding our resort transfer as they had a nice big Club Med sign and a smile. They took our luggage and we jumped in a car that took us to the resort. When we arrived at the resort we were handed nice cold wash clothes (as it was very humid) and drinks. We then checked in and were given maps and lists of events going on and information on the restaurants. They grabbed our bags and took us to our beautiful room, which had the best most comfy bed ever along with a completely separate room for 2 of our kids and a very nice daybed/single bed for my other child. The food was all buffet, but there was no end to what you could find. There were the normal things for us Americans along with yummy French deserts and Seafood and beautiful chef prepared plates. Oh and the fruit was so so fresh! The kids had a blast. My older two mostly stuck with us, but the youngest went several times to the Mini club and those guys were amazing. Everyday we saw them they had some crazy costume on, from bear suits to pirates. My youngest even went on a treasure hunt one day and found treasure! The beach was beautiful and even though I was a little skeptical of the random patches of seaweed, after I started snorkeling I discovered they held the best surprises of all. Loads of beautiful fish! I cannot say enough about the GO's that do the kids theater entertainment either. I found myself laughing as hard as the kids. I also cannot comment on the Punta Cana Club Med without mentioning our Dalia, who was way more than a cleaning attendant. She was more like a friend and when my oldest daughter was sick on the 3rd day of vacation (too many rich foods at once I think) Dalia was amazing. She not only did extra cleaning in my daughter's room while working around us, but also left the kids extra chocolates the next day since we didn't get turn down service that night. The only drawback I can think of is that I think they could have had a few smaller scale included excursions as each excursion would run our family of 5 upwards of $1000. About 2 days before we left our lovely vacation we received a letter stating what time our flight was and what time they would take us to the airport along with departure tags for our luggage. On the day of our flight home there was a large monitor by reception stating all departures for the day along with any airline delays and between check out time and flight time there is an interim room where you can use lockers to hold your things and showers, etc. I really think this resort is one of the most organized I have ever stayed at and thoroughly would recommend it!
We loved the RIU Palace Macao in Punta Cana! They have designated swim/snorkel areas marked off. Boats- even the windsurfers are not allowed in the marked areas. they start yelling at you in spanish if you accidentally get near the swim area.
The whole beach felt very safe. not a lot of waves or shells. Most of the TV stations were in spanish. I read 2 books and a ton of magazines while we were there. We played ping pong everyday and mostly laid around the beach and pool. They had horse shoes, bocci, beach volleyball, and other activities. They also offer free intro lesson to scuba diving. My husband was thinking about doing it, but never did. I did a couple of the aerobics classes. Everything was open air. Not a lot of of air conditioning. Even the fitness room was open air. Hope this helps.
November dive getaway
Great trip, resort was beautiful (but huge) you needed to use the golf cart system to get anywhere but I was close to the beach and dive shop and could walk there. Food was great (had lobster almost every night) and the room was nice. It’s sort of an Eco Resort so there was plenty of beautiful tree’s flowers etc. Dove every day and only had to pay for the dive trip I took to Catalina. All and all a good trip, would recommend this place.
